Founder, Creator, & Animal Advocate
Hello Friend! My name is Dana Lynn, and I am the owner and creator here at Grooming Studio Company (GSC).
My journey into handmade soap making began ten years ago. Though life has brought many twists, turns, and career changes, I have ultimately arrived back at my true passion—with my own unique flair. Today, GSC offers clean, specialized skincare for both you and your pets, along with custom “bling” accessories inspired by my own English Springer Spaniel, Dominic. Looking ahead to early next year, I am incredibly excited to expand GSC by adding professional dog grooming services to fully round out what we offer!
My Journey & Passion
Throughout my life, I have worn many hats. I have worked as a social media marketer, radio producer, personal assistant, website designer, and online magazine editor. While those experiences shaped me, my absolute favorite role in the world is being an advocate—both for my children and for those without a voice, like our beloved pets.
Why Natural Ingredients Matter
Our skin and our pets’ coats go through a lot on any given day. What we choose to nourish them with truly matters. As we age, our skincare needs change, and our pets deserve better than the one-size-fits-all beauty bars or bottled, chemical-heavy products sold with hyped-up advertising.
I believe that natural, clean ingredients sourced from reliable companies are the best way to nurture ourselves and our furry friends. That is exactly why I started making soap. I wanted to provide natural, clean-ingredient skincare products that I could trust completely for my family and my pets.
Behind the Scenes
When I am not busy crafting skincare products, studying to become a certified groomer, or running the studio, you can find me recharging in nature. I love camping and hiking out in the woods with my family, or simply hanging out with my soul dog, Dominic.

Sands of Time…
2015
Discovered a new hobby…
Fall of 2015, my two oldest children were entering pre-teen/teen years, and I was in my early 40’s entering my farm girl era. Complete with chickens, sourdough starter, and… soap making. Hold on tight, fam!
2016
Full fledge obsession now
And you get a soap, and you get a soap!! Everyone was gifted soap – TELL ME IF YOU LIKE IT AND BE HONEST! No, really I sent it to everyone to test for me, complete with surveys. Hey, at least I was thorough!
2017
Aww, a cute baby was born… twice!
This is where everything took off. I started an official business, my first “baby” that year – Esther Rose Co. Oh, my heart. Complete with fairs, craft shows, online sales and my then dog Madison with me every step of the way. And then, we welcomed two more babies by way of foster care and so began the slow years.
2018 – 2021
It became a hobby again
Life just did as it does and …. happened. The babies, they did get bigger, but… Life. Death. Work. Single Parenting. But, during the storm, we got this Neanderthal, Dominic, and you will see him a lot around here – he is part of the inspiration behind Grooming Studio Co.
2021-2026
The passion never left
Soap making was and is deep in my bones so I never could quite abandon it but because I was juggling so many other things I just did it for fun – keeping my skills sharp but never diving in fully again, until now!
My Story is Just Beginning… and So is Yours!
A New Chapter, Built From a Lifelong Passion
I started making handmade soap more than 10 years ago, simply because I loved creating it. Since then, I’ve explored a little bit of everything — from marketing and social media to website design — always learning, creating, and finding new ways to turn ideas into something real.
This year, I decided it was time to build a business around the things I truly love while creating more time for my family. Along the way, I discovered a new passion: pet grooming.
I may still be learning the art of grooming, but I realized I didn’t have to choose between my old passion and my new one. I could bring them together.
And that’s how this next chapter began — combining more than a decade of soap making experience with my growing love for pets.
The soap comes first. The grooming comes next. And I’m just getting started.
